The 6th annual Memorial Day Super 16 Showcase returns to southeastern Connecticut this weekend for what has become the northeast's biggest and best event of the holiday weekend. Brewster Academy senior forward Sidney Wilson announced his commitment to St. John's on Saturday night as a member of the 2017 class. Wilson initially reclassified to 2018 upon arriving at Brewster Academy in the fall but announced he would explore a return to 2017 shortly after the April evaluation period. Mercyhurst University, a Catholic liberal arts college in Erie (PA), came to New England and grabbed a late steal on Friday afternoon when Springfield Commonwealth Academy point guard Derrick Ellis committed to the Lakers.
