NMH’s Urosevic and Rodriguez Recently Announced Their Commitments
The Northfield Mount Hermon School recently celebrated the commitments of two incoming postgraduates to Division I programs.
Andrew Urosevic, a Canadian native, has committed to Lehigh University of the Patriot League, while Nasir Rodriguez, a New York native, has chosen Fairfield University of the MAAC.
Both players are new to the region in terms of their high school careers but attracted significant interest from multiple college programs.
Rodriguez initially committed to Columbia University before joining NMH but decided to reopen his recruitment this summer. He graduated in June from Monsignor Scanlan, a well-known program in New York’s CHSAA.
Shortly after, he excelled at the Peach Jam, playing for the NY Rens, where he averaged 10.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in the EYBL season finale.
Rodriguez’s physical slashing ability stood out as he used his strong frame and length at 6'5" to attack the rim effectively. He also demonstrated his ability to shoot from the perimeter with a shot that he's reportedly continued to refine over the years.
Fairfield head coach Chris Casey adds another local talent alongside Tony Williams, continuing to build momentum for the program by recruiting right in his own backyard.
Urosevic, meanwhile, brings experience from the Canadian National program and a high school career split between Canada and the United States.
Last season, he played at Canyon International Academy in Arizona, following time with Ridley College in Canada throughout his high school years.
In February, Urosevic turned heads with his standout performance at the National Prep School Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island.
He was hitting three's all over the floor, whether it was off the catch or created with his handle. While he was still playing out west, this could be considered his first introduction to the New England scene.
After transferring to NMH this summer, he received offers from Western Illinois and New Hampshire, with Mercyhurst and Lehigh extending offers in the fall.
Lehigh is gaining a sharpshooting guard in Urosevic, known for his ability to score consistently. He excels off the catch, with a quick release and a smooth shooting form.
The duo will take the court together soon, competing alongside other top prospects at the National Prep Showcase, held November 22-24 at Albertus Magnus College. Don’t miss the chance to see a ton of future college stars in action under one roof!
