Nalajah Christopher to BU
Darrow School and Expressions Elite guard Nalajah Christopher announced his commitment to Boston University just now, keeping the Worcester native close to home for the next chapter of his basketball career.
Christopher’s story began at Worcester North High School, where he was part of one of the most impressive runs by a public school program in recent memory. During his time with the Polar Bears, Worcester North captured back-to-back state championships and put together a remarkable 45-game winning streak.
His path eventually took him to the Darrow School, where he joined the class of 2027 and has continued to take steps forward with his game.
Standing around 6'3", Christopher is a dynamic scoring guard who can really get going when he finds a rhythm. He has plenty of shift off the dribble, changes speeds well, and has the ability to keep defenders on their heels when attacking. He’s also shown consistent finishing ability around the basket and is comfortable getting into his pull-up game at multiple levels.
The next step will be becoming a more consistent three-point shooter, but there is plenty of reason to believe that can come with continued development.
We saw another jump from Christopher this summer at the NEPSAC Showcase, where it was evident that he was beginning to step into more of an alpha role for Darrow. In one of the most electric individual performances we saw over the two weekends, Christopher took over stretches of the game as a scorer and seemed to get wherever he wanted on the floor. Official stats weren’t kept, but he had to have finished somewhere above the 30-point mark.
That type of performance provided a glimpse into what could be ahead for Christopher during his final season at Darrow. He’ll return to a team that has completely reloaded and looks capable of making plenty of noise during the 2026-27 season, with Christopher expected to be right in the middle of it.
After that, he’ll head back down the Mass Pike to join the Terriers.
There could be an opportunity for Christopher to earn minutes early in his career at Boston University if he can prove he’s ready for them, but there’s no need to rush the process either. He’ll enter a Division I program with the chance to continue developing his game while competing close to his hometown.
