2026 Upstate Frosh/Soph #E75 Recap - pt. III

Jack Beers, Canisteo Greenwood: The freshman guard has some swagger to his game with his ball-handling and use of shake off the dribble. He can get creative with his handle to make space for himself to score despite defenders being in close proximity to him. He also showed off his range from beyond the arc and ability to shoot from different spots on the floor.

MJ McNamara, Broadalbin-Perth: The Albany area sophomore made a lot of strong reads in transition as the lead guard for his team. Has great command of the ball as a handler and can make things happen with it in his hands. He was able to score on second-chance opportunities as well.

Nate Best, Tully: Best was one half of a dynamic freshman frontcourt for Tully this past season and once again showed his skill. He uses his body well to get to his spots and can make shots at different levels of the court. Best also does all the other important things needed to win games like making the right pass and competing hard to grab rebounds. Primed for another big year this winter alongside Dando.

Aadon Scott, Bishop Ludden: Aadon Scott is a lefty guard in the class of 2029 who can really shoot the three-ball. He can do so in a multitude of ways off the dribble, creating space or on a pull up, also off the catch. He brings good size to the backcourt and uses it to his advantage to make things happen at different levels.

Max Payment, Honeoye Falls: Payment plays the game with a running motor, as he is all over the floor making an impact. He is very good around the rim, finishing very well around defenders and using his quick first step to get there.

Spencer Juliano, North Tonawanda: Making quite a name for himself thus far out of the Buffaloa area, Juliano is a creative scorer who can go on all three levels. He seemingly always makes the right play, whether it be for himself or for a teammate. He's quick off the bounce with an eye for getting to his spots where he can rise right up into jumpers and convert.

Ramelo Kearse, Corcoran: Kearse is a quick and crafty guard who uses his handle to get to his spots on the offensive end. He can score on all three levels and moves around the floor very well with his quickness. Off the ball, he does a good job of relocating to find his spots and knock down shots off the catch.

Shamel Greene, Sauquoit Valley: The point guard does a good job of making himself a scoring threat whether he has the ball or is operating off of it. He can relocate to get open on the perimeter for catch-and-shoot opportunities, while taking defenders off the bounce too.

Griffin Connelly, Westhill: Another up-and-coming name at Westhill, Connelly has early backcourt size at 6'2" heading into his freshman year. He thrives as a catch-and-shoot threat at multiple levels, while making smart cuts off the ball. One to track as he continues to develop and has potential to be an impact player down the line.

Jaylen Jones, Rome Free Academy: Jaylen Jones is a quick wing with an explosive first step that allows him to blow by his defender. He is a creative finisher around the rim, who is a sneaky athlete with upside to play above.

Sam Dando, Tully: Entering the event fresh off a standout freshman season, the dual-sport athlete showcased his versatile skill set. He brings a strong ability to shoot it off the catch, and he makes them at a good clip, while using his threat to shoot to take defenders off the bounce. Dando also plays with a consistent motor when he's on the court and looks to continue to ascend with Tully in his sophomore year.

Reid Stedman, Churchville-Chili: Reid Stedman is great off the ball as he continuously gets to his spots and scores. He is great off the catch both in the mid-range and from beyond the arc. Stedman also sees the floor well and is a great cutter to get scoring opportunities that way. The son of a coach, he makes the right plays and has some early feel for the game.

Ryan Walker, Notre Dame: Ryan Walker is imposing on the interior, bringing great frame to go along with his size at the center position. He battles for position and can finish through contact under the rim using his physicality. He is a good rebounder on both ends of the floor, and on the defensive end protects the rim well while playing tough.

Chakiir Shogar, Bishop Ludden:  Shogar is another up and coming name out of Bishop Ludden, who can shoot the three-ball. He offers a quick trigger off the catch, but shows the ability to do the same off the dribble. He's another solid guard in what is gearing up to be a once again very formidable Bishop Ludden backcourt.

Christian Oathout, Honeoye Falls Lima: The 6'0" sophomore point guard is a very crafty scorer on the offensive end. He can get going on all three levels, and beyond the arc, he can shoot off the dribble or on the catch. Oathout also can use his handle to get down the lane and finish a multitude of ways around the rim.
