2026 Upstate Frosh/Soph #E75 Recap - pt. IV

Michael Abda, Mid Valley: Abda wasted little time getting going at the event, making multiple shots from beyond the three-point line. His shotmaking was impressive, but he also showed his ability to create for others and contribute on the glass as a rebounder. An incoming freshman with early feel and the ability to impact different columns on the box score.

Elvir Potter, Durgee: Potter is a smaller guard who uses size to his advantage. The freshman point guard flies around the court with his nonstop motor and is quick with the ball. He offers a tight handle and scores from different levels of the floor.

Ronan Smith, McQuaid Jesuit: The sophomore at McQuaid Jesuit is further developing his guard skills and had a nice showing at the event. He knows how to make reads and move the ball using his court vision, while also being able to attack the rim and pressure opposing defenses.

Aiden Lannon, Palmyra Macedon: Lannon offers a crafty handle at the point. He is very comfortable taking the ball up and can create for himself and teammates with his ability to break down the defense. He also shows the ability to shoot the ball very comfortably from beyond the arc.

Mason Burden, Nottingham HS: Burden plays a high IQ brand of basketball that is beyond his years as a class of 2030 player. He is a very capable playmaker at the point, but excels from beyond the arc. The Nottingham underclassman is a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc, and will do so off the catch and the dribble.

Jaxon Allen, Proctor HS: Allen is a young point guard prospect out of the Utica area to keep an eye out for. He does a nice job of utilizing his handle to get around the floor, with vision to playmake, and can get his own buckets too.

Mohammed Yousef, Academy of Science (Utica): The big forward is a patient player around the rim on the offensive end who offers solid size and a bigger frame. To add to his patience on the interior on offense, he can corral offensive boards to create second-chance opportunities. On the other end, he is tough, digging and guarding in the post.

Navoj Thomas, Nottingham: Another part of a strong underclassmen core at Nottingham, Thomas has a physically imposing build at 6'3" that he uses to his advantage in the paint. He showed off as a rebounding threat with a motor on the glass while getting tough and strong on contested finishes inside.

Parker Schneider, Baldwinsville:  The Baldwinsville sophomore guard can score on all three levels. He is very comfortable shooting from beyond the arc with a quick trigger, and can take contact down low and finish around the rim.

Michael Nobles Jr., Rush Henrietta: A very pesky defender, he makes life for opposing ball handlers very difficult by applying constant pressure. He isn't afraid to get on the floor and make the hustle plays. He finishes well and strong around the rim on his drive, also showing solid playmaking ability.

Charles Cassidy IV, Westhill: Another young prospect out of Westhill, Cassidy showed off some different ways he can make an impact on the floor. He was able to convert on some shots, displaying good mechanics, while also showing off some passing ability.

Reed Paninski, West Genesee: Reed Paninski is a true hustle player with an extremely high motor. He offers solid size and great athleticism for his class. He is a great rebounder at the forward position and will get up for emphatic blocks down low.  He runs the floor well and can push with the ball, he can get downhill well and finish through contact.

Christian Dodson, Binghamton: Dodson is a very fast forward who plays a relentless game of basketball. He has a high motor and makes his presence felt all over the floor. Whether it be attacking the basket and finishing low, or getting into the passing lane for a steal and pushing the ball. Dodson has also shown glimpses of extending his range to the outside.
