Wilson Announces for St. John’s
Brewster Academy senior forward Sidney Wilson announced his commitment to St. John's on Saturday night as a member of the 2017 class.
Wilson initially reclassified to 2018 upon arriving at Brewster Academy in the fall but announced he would explore a return to 2017 shortly after the April evaluation period.
He's since taken visits to both UConn and St. John's and had also scheduled a third visit to Texas prior scheduling his announcement.
His decision allows him to return to his home city to play in front of family and friends after his year in the NEPSAC.
A six-foot-seven forward who is one of the most explosive athletes in the entire country, Wilson is a highlight reel waiting to happen almost everytime he takes the floor. He averaged over 17 points and 5 rebounds for the Bobcats this season as they completed their first undefeated year in program history, finishing at 33-0 while winning both the NEPSAC AAA and National Prep Championships.
Wilson is the third member of Brewster's 2017 class to commit to a high-major school as the Bobcats are sending players off to Nebraska, Providence, Georgia Tech, Florida, Purdue, and now St. John's.
