Chris Lee, Harry Rafferty, and Duncan Robinson all saw their AAU seasons come to an end last week as the Middlesex Magic were eliminated in the gold bracket after winning their pool at the AAU Super Showcase in Orlando. The BABC’s junior team was in North Augusta, South Carolina this week at the Nike Peach Jam, the final session of the 2012 Elite Youth Basketball League Schedule. The Hoop Group might have been holding their annual Summer Classic East tournament just outside of Philadelphia, but there was a distinct New England flavor to the event. For the third consecutive year the Boston Amateur Basketball Club has won the AAU 10th grade national championship. BABC’s most recent national title was earned at Disney’s Wide World of Sports on Thursday afternoon with a 61-55 overtime win over Team Charlotte in a game that was televised live on ESPN3.com. A narrow 38-37 defeat to the nation’s number one ranked freshman Team Texas Titans prevented the BABC Freshman from winning the AAU 9th grade Division 1 Gold Medal for the second year in a row.
