BABC Freshmen Earn Bronze

A narrow 38-37 defeat to the nation’s number one ranked freshman Team Texas Titans prevented the BABC Freshman from winning the AAU 9th grade Division 1 Gold Medal for the second year in a row.

BABC swept through pool play with a perfect 3-0 record, including a win over the talented host club, Arkansas Patriots Elite.  Once bracket play began the BABC then defeated national powers All Ohio Red 63-50 in the round of 16, Oklahoma Phenoms 59-50 in the quarterfinals and then Houston Defenders 56-46 on their way to the bronze medal.  

Team Texas featured a huge frontcourt of 6'10", 6'9"and 6'8" Micky Mitchell, who is considered to be among the top prospects in the national class of 2015, yet trailed BABC 36-31 with 55 seconds remaining. BABC's starting five of Brendan Hill (6'4", Mansfield HS, 2015), Marcel Pettway (6'6", Wilbraham & Monson Academy, 2015), Bruce Brown (6'3", Wakefield HS, 2015), Terance Mann (6'4", Tilton School, 2015), and Kareem Davis (5'9", Lowell HS, 2015) all week long.

With their bronze medal, BABC improves to 67-2 on the season.  They begin the AAU 9th grade Super Showcase on Wednesday's at ESPN's Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.  The BABC class of 2015 also includes three players currently playing up a division with the club's sophomore team in Tyree Robinson, Curtis Cobb and Jonathan Joseph.
