Some RIIL Seniors To Watch This Winter
Gianni Pagios, Lincoln: Pagios is off to a hot start to the RIIL season, leading Lincoln HS to an undefeated start to the season. The 6'0" guard dictates the pace of a game with his ability to set the table for his teammates as a floor general with innate passing vision. Pagios brings shot creation to the court, making him a tough matchup as he can generate space with his tight handle and ability to rise right into shots. He had 20 points to start the season off in a sizeable win over North Kingstown HS.
Eliezer Delbrey, Classical: Delbrey is a familiar name across the RIIL, entering his senior season with a decorated résumé and consistent success year over year. The 6’1 guard is a polished scorer who continues to refine his craft, showing effectiveness at all three levels. He’s particularly strong attacking off the dribble, able to stop on a dime without getting sped up by defenders. What elevates Delbrey’s game is the smoothness and creativity he plays with, using a diverse scoring package to counter different coverages.
Adam Conheeny, Portsmouth: Conheeny shows a lot of promise as a perimeter scorer, comfortable playing in an up-tempo environment. He has confidence shooting from deep and brings a crafty approach when getting downhill, frequently turning to a soft floater in the paint. His ability to score both beyond the arc and in the lane gives him versatility as an offensive option.
Josh Bergeron, Lincoln HS: Returning from a significant injury, there’s plenty to like about Bergeron’s game. He’s an elite perimeter shooter who gets to his spots efficiently, with no wasted dribbles and a picture-perfect release. Bergeron is also effective off the ball and has grown as a downhill threat, showing improved patience in isolation by reading the defense and attacking at the right moment to finish.
Jeremiah Lenus, North Providence: Lenus has already enjoyed notable success, helping lead North Providence to back-to-back Division III championships in 2023 and 2024, and he continues to trend upward. The 6’2 guard excels in transition, where he creates driving opportunities and pressures the rim, with an ever-improving perimeter shot. Lenus is a composed processor of the game who plays well and competes with toughness, setting the tone for his team.
Dante DesMarais, East Greenwich: The 6’6 wing out of East Greenwich is a name to keep an eye on. DesMarais is a disruptive interior defender, using his length and verticality to contest shots around the rim. Offensively, he’s a capable spot-up shooter who is willing to let it fly from deep, giving him value on both ends of the floor.
Caleb Satisfield, Barrington HS: Satisfield is a tough cover in transition, pairing a lethal first step with impressive leaping ability. He embraces contact and uses it to create scoring chances off the dribble. A true three-level scorer, Satisfield mixes in shot fakes and hesitations to keep defenders off balance. With Barrington off to a 2-0 start, he looks poised to be a key contributor for an Eagles team with high expectations.
Isaac Ibidapo, Shea HS: Ibidapo is a high-motor, lanky forward standing at 6’5 who shows promise as a rim protector, consistently deterring shots around the basket. He has good touch finishing with either hand inside and brings value on the offensive glass, creating second-chance opportunities through effort and activity.
Nicholas Tarro, LaSalle: Tarro may have a case for the most explosive leaping ability in the state at 6’4. He operates as a reliable spot-up threat while also being comfortable pushing the pace in transition. When attacking the lane, Tarro is effective playing off two feet and finishing through traffic. With La Salle coming off a state championship and replacing key contributors, Tarro has a prime opportunity to solidify his role as the Rams sit at 3-1 heading into the break.
