Of the 10 teams in the u15 bracket, 8 were from New England. The Connecticut Basketball Club was certainly the most dominant of those groups on Saturday afternoon, although both visiting teams (Albany City Rocks and Long Island Lightning) are also particularly strong. The Stockmal brothers have been very busy in the month of June, and they will be even busier in the month of July. What has been rumored for several weeks has now become official. Evan Smotrycz will be leaving Reading Memorial High School in Massachusetts and transferring to the New Hampton School in New Hampshire. Smotrycz will repeat his junior year and reclassify to the class of 2010 at the NEPSAC class A school. Less than one month after being named the new head men’s basketball coach at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Greg Herenda has received two commitments. Two NEPSAC products in South Kent’s Kyle Mayers and Winchendon’s Justin Graham will both be Riverhawks next season.
