Connecticut Basketball Academy went 2-0 on the day defeating Lone Wolf and the Philadelphia Patriots. Laquan Mendenhall, and Brandon Sherod paced the team throughout the action. Sherod was at his best against the Patriots, when he dominated the paint for 20 points. Mendenhall had 13 in reduced action against Lone Wolf and 16 against the Patriots. Michigan Head Coach John Beilein, Stanford Head Coach Johnny Dawkins, Providence Head Coach Keno Davis, and UMass Head Coach Derek Kellog were among the 120+ college coaches who were on hand for the Super 16 Showcase on Tuesday. The best game of the morning featured a matchup of two of the camp’s best rising eighth graders: Ryan Perron and Sam Dowden. Connecticut Skills scored the biggest upset of the day as they knocked off Hollis Price Elite in convincing fashion. Mike Marra (Northfield Mount Hermon), Maurice Creek (South Kent), and Givon Crump (Brewster Academy) were named to the upperclassmen all-star game at the Reebok All-American Camp. 6’8” big man Thomas Robinson, who will head to Brewster Academy next year, was also named to the team.
