Apfeld’s Recruiting Heating Up

For a long time Luke Apfeld was considered a prospect who would end up in either the Ivy or Patriot League.  It seemed to be a good fit since he was an excellent student who valued getting the best education he could.  And while it is still possible that Apfeld ends up at that level, his strong play as of late has generated interest from higher levels.

Coaches have known about his super motor and athleticism for a long time, but this spring it has been Apfeld’s consistently improving skill set and ability to make plays on both ends of the floor that have stood out.

Consequently, the athletic forward is now drawing interest from schools like the Colonial’s Northeastern, the Atlantic 10’s George Washington, and a member of last year’s Elite 8 in Davidson.

Apfeld recently took an unofficial visit to GW’s campus and came away impressed.  He has also recently visited Columbia, Princeton, Lehigh, Harvard, Yale, and Northeastern.  In fact, he has already taken roughly ten unofficial visits and begun to narrow his list according to Brewster Academy Head Coach Jason Smith.  Cornell, American, and Vermont are other schools that Apfeld likes right now.

What has become apparent is that if Apfeld decides he wants to go to the Ivy or Patriot League, he will have his choice of programs.  But as the spring turns to summer and Apfeld continues to play well, don’t be surprised as more and more schools from higher levels begin to get involved.
