Transfer Profile: Noa Etuati-Edwards

California native Noa Eteuati-Edwards is set to join Avon Old Farms as part of its 2027 class.

The 6'4" guard is coming over from Arcadia High School in California to test his skills in the New England prep scene for his post-grad season. Eteuati-Edwards comes over to Avon Old Farms after scoring over 1,000 points at Arcadia.

Through his already proven ability to produce and his versatile scoring skill set, he has already earned himself Division I offers from Western Illinois and Southeast Missouri State.

Edwards is a crafty scorer who can score it from all three levels. One of the most prominent abilities that stood out to me was his ability to absorb contact when getting to the rim. He finishes through contact, doesn’t focus on receiving a foul call but instead on finishing at the rim - an underrated skill to have.

Once Edwards works his way into the paint, he has the touch, creativity, and coordination to finish with either hand. This ability keeps defenders from forcing him to one side of the floor and allows him to finish over rotating defenders coming to contest. He has consistently shown the ability to finish through contact or get creative to finish around lengthy defenders.

His perimeter shooting opens up the driving lanes for him, making him even more difficult to stop as a defender. Eteuati-Edwards has great range from well beyond the arc and can’t be given space even a few feet behind the three-point line. He has a release that is both quick and distinctive, which allows him to get his shot off before defenders can close the space and fully contest his shot. The angle of his release helps him shoot over defenders when that space is closed.

Having that combination consistently puts defenders in situations where they have to make difficult decisions. Give Eteuati-Edwards space, and he will make you pay from deep, but crowding him allows him to use his handle to attack off the dribble. His ability to play through contact lets him stay on his path when attacking the rim.

Eteuati-Edwards can also score in the midrange. He has displayed great touch with his floaters and an ability to back down smaller defenders, giving him another way to attack a defense or finish over help defenders. His ability to stop on a dime and make snap decisions based on the defense makes him a truly elite scorer.

With his physical and creative finishes, deep range, and knack for getting himself open looks, Eteuati-Edwards will prove to be an offensive weapon for Avon Old Farms. Competing in the NEPSAC will give him more opportunities to display his talent against high-level competition and expand his recruitment.
