Transfer Profile: Eli Prince
Back at the start of this year, Class of 2027 prospect Eli Prince announced his commitment to Cushing Academy, becoming one of the latest additions to the Penguins' talented core.
Prince makes his way from Westhill High School (Syracuse NY) to Cushing Academy, reclassifying into the Class of 2027. At Westhill, he was a key piece on a program that won four consecutive Section III Class A championships from 2023 through 2026.
This past March, Prince earned Class A Tournament MVP after scoring 22 points along with 10 rebounds in the sectional championship game, capping an undefeated 23-0 season. A year earlier, he erupted for a career-high 37 points in the 2025 sectional final while also passing the 1,000-point mark for his career during that postseason run.
Over the past few months, Prince has collected Division I offers from Sacred Heart, Fairfield, Siena, Le Moyne, Colgate, and Manhattan as his recruitment continues to gain momentum. With one more year in the talented NEPSAC Class AA, he'll have an opportunity to continue expanding that list while competing against New England's top talent.
Prince's athleticism is eye-catching. He plays with excellent pop off two feet, exploding vertically around the basket and finishing well above defenders. One sequence from him that caught everyone's eye earlier this summer is his catch on the roll and rise over multiple defenders for an emphatic dunk without needing a gather dribble.
Prince’s shooting ability is another area of his game that stands out. He's comfortable spotting up or stepping into shots off the move, utilizing a high release point that makes the defender's hand nearly invisible.
Prince's game extends beyond those flashes. He consistently plays under control off two feet, uses his long arms and frame to create angles around defenders, and is extremely active on the glass with a high motor.
With continued development under Coach Cormier at Cushing Academy, Prince has the tools to continue elevating his game and his recruitment.
