Pomfret School forward Gerald Blount made a verbal commitment to St. Joseph's on Monday night before the news first became public on Tuesday morning. The 6-foot-7 forward earned All Class B honorable mention recognition last year in his first season in the New England prep ranks and spent the spring and summer playing with the same New York Jayhawks along with other New England prep products like Mamadou Diarra (UConn) and Ray Jerome (Penn). The New England Recruiting Report, in conjunction with Zero Gravity Basketball, will be hosting the inagural NERR Coaches vs. Cancer Prep Classic to be held on Friday, December 11th at Babson College in Massachusetts. St. Andrew's post-graduate center Cian Sullivan made a verbal commitment to LaSalle on Friday, accepting a full athletic scholarship to the division I school. While the news came as a bit of a surprise, Saints' head coach Michael Hart told NERR that LaSalle plans to redshirt Sullivan next year in order to help him put on weight and be more physically prepared to compete at the Atlantic 10 level. Cheshire Academy capped a busy October with their fourth commitment of the month on Saturday when Thomas Huerter pledged to Siena. Huerter joins Elijah Pemberton (Hofstra), Ray Jerome (Penn) and Clayton Le Sann (Holy Cross) to become the fourth Cheshire Academy product to commit to a division I school in a matter of weeks.
