Three of the six finalists for 2013 Nike Elite Youth Basketball League MVP played at New England prep schools during the 2012-2013 season, according to D1 Circuit. Official rosters were announced on Monday night for both the Nike Point Guard Skills Academy and the Nike Big Man Skills Academy. Kimball Union Academy’s Abdul-Malik Abu and Wilbraham & Monson’s Goodluck Okonoboh are both in attendance as expected. Former Redemption Christian big man is also in attendance. Fairfield Prep center Paschal Chukwu was also reportedly invited but unable to attend. Norwalk High School’s rising junior forward, Roy Kane Jr., landed his first division I offer on Saturday from Iona College. The news was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jeff Borzello via twitter. Tabor Academy two sport star, Miles Wright, took an unofficial visit to Bryant University on Thursday, and left with a scholarship offer. Boston University got an early jump on their 2015 recruiting class on Wednesday with a pair of commitments from Matt Hein and Daouda Ndiaye from Windermere Prep and the Orlando Venom AAU team. Hein is a five-foot-seven point guard and Ndiaye is a six-foot-eleven center with a very high ceiling. Boston College scored a late recruiting victory in the class of 2013 on Wednesday, picking up a commitment from six-foot-eleven big man Billy Magarity. Magarity is a Swedish native who plays for the country’s U-20 national team. Southern Connecticut State University added another piece to their incoming 2013 recruiting class recently with a commitment from Master’s School senior forward Austin Carter.
