BC Lands Swedish Big Man
Boston College scored a late recruiting victory in the class of 2013 on Wednesday, picking up a commitment from six-foot-eleven big man Billy Magarity.
Magarity is a Swedish native who plays for the country’s U-20 national team. His father, Bill Magarity, grew up playing in Philadelphia and was the MVP of the Philadelphia Catholic League in 1971 before relocating to Sweden.
Described as a fundamentally sound big man from 15 feet and in, Magarity chose BC over other offers from the Big East, American Athletic Conference, Pac 12, Big Ten, and Big 12.
He becomes the third player to commit to the Eagles in the class of 2013 joining six-foot-four two-guard Darryl Hicks and high flying forward Garland Owens.
