Droney Heading to Stonehill
Stonehill College picked up their first commitment since head coach Dave McLaughlin resigned to become the associate head coach at Northeastern University, as Matt Droney announced via twitter that he would become a Skyhawk next season.

Droney graduated from Catholic Memorial (MA) in 2012 and ran with the Rhode Island Hawks on last summer's AAU circuit before heading to the Taft School for a post-graduate season.
Unfortunately that post-graduate season plagued by injuries that both prevented him from ever being 100% healthy and ultimately cut his season short.
Since returning home to Canton (MA), Droney has reportedly worked hard to get himself back on the court, with his recent commitiment to Stonehill serving as the reward for his dedication.
As for Stonehill, Droney's commitment would seem to indicate assistant coach Chris Kraus has a good chance of succeeding McLaughlin as the program's next head coach. Kraus starred under McLaughlin, helping to lead the Skyhawks to a Final Four in his senior season, and has spent the last three years on the coaching staff.
Stonehill has a talented young roster that they'll surely want to keep in tact for next season, along with an excellent early commitment from Isaiah Bess in the class of 2014.
