Yesterday, we broke down the u17 roster for the Basketball Club of Rhode Island.  Today you get to see for yourself thanks to the latest movie trailer from Hoop Major as part of the Be Seen Tour.  What you, and college coaches, will see is a team full of prospects who will all play at the college level.  Parker Mason, Jake Bender, and Jawarie Hamelin may be the prospects trending with scholarship level coaches so far but Mike Levesque, Ethan… READ MORE >

Be Seen - BCRI

Posted Monday, August 3rd, 2020

The Be Seen Tour brought us back to the state of Rhode Island last week to check out BCRI, an emerging program in the state whose u17 team features prospects for D1, D2, and D3 college coaches this year.  Collectively, the group is exactly what we had in mind when we designed the tour.  While everyone is lacking normal exposure opportunities this year, college coaches are understandably focused on the programs and prospects they already know. Meaning, while it’s hard… READ MORE >

Rising Senior Spotlight - Anthony Clayton

Posted Sunday, August 2nd, 2020

This was going to be a big year for Anthony Clayton as he was going to have the opportunity to play, and prove himself, against the best competition possible, both in the prep and grassroots ranks.  It began in the NEPSAC, where he transferred into Avon Old Farms to run Matt Mihalich's team.  This spring and summer, Clayton's long tenure with the City Rocks program was going to culminate with a spot on the roster of their EYBL team. Of… READ MORE >

Be Seen - NYL Select 2022

Posted Friday, July 31st, 2020

Yesterday, we profiled the players in the New York Lightning Select’s 2021 class. The roster features a pair of prospects in the class of 2022 as well though in Peter Carey and Tommy Mooney.  As we said yesterday, Carey just might be the biggest sleeper in all of New England, but that certainly won’t last. It takes about two minutes to see the size, fluidity, and athleticism that make him a very rare long-term prospect. The comparisons to a young… READ MORE >

Be Seen - NY Lightning Select

There are lots of sneaker sponsored grassroots programs that have multiple teams, but let’s be clear about something, the New York Lightning Select program is no one’s “B team.” In fact, when we watched them workout last week, we found ourselves asking the same question repeatedly, “isn’t that guy good enough to play for the EYBL team?” The first and most obvious example was Peter Carey, who might just be the best kept secret in New England. It won’t stay… READ MORE >

Be Seen - RI Elite u16

On Monday, we profiled Rhode Island Elite’s u17 team, and while it is an undeniably talented group with multiple scholarship prospects, the reality is that the program’s u16 team is even deeper and more talented.  The best prospect in the gym was undoubtedly Isaiah Miranda. A 7-footer in the class of 2023 who spent last season at the Phelps School in Pennsylvania after not getting varsity minutes in Rhode Island the year prior.  Miranda is still extremely raw and only… READ MORE >

It was 90 degrees outside, the gym wasn’t air conditioned, and the team had already played earlier in the day.   And yet, when we walked in the gym to watch Rhode Island Elite last Thursday night, what we saw was a competitive and well-organized practice with constant energy, communication, and competition.  In short, they were getting after it and getting better.  And this is the norm for Rhode Island Elite. They’re in the gym every day, sometimes twice a… READ MORE >

The coronavirus has impacted players all over the world, including those hoping to get to New England.  The Tokyo Samurai are an AAU youth basketball organization in Japan that annually travels to compete in the United States and sends players to local prep schools.  Unfortunately this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they weren't able to make that trip and, consequently, haven't gotten the exposure to college and prep coaches here in the states that they were counting on.  They… READ MORE >
