All programs are not created equally in Class AA of the NEPSAC. While most have both boarding students and post-graduates alike within their general student body, there are a select number of smaller schools that look to compete with higher profile basketball programs without having the luxury of the same resources. Winchester High School senior forward Michael Grassey is another local product who has recently committed to a NESCAC school, making a verbal commitment to Hamilton College pending acceptance of his early decision application. Westford Academy senior big man Eric McCord made a verbal commitment to Middlebury earlier this month, pending acceptance of his early decision application. The six-foot-seven big man is a true post player who should be able to provide a scoring threat on the block, quality post defender, and high volume rebounder.
