Every year St. Mark’s invites college coaches in for one day to see their basketball players go through an open gym workout. While there are always plenty of talented players on the St. Mark’s roster to draw in coaches, each year there seems to be one primary attraction. Two years ago it was Erik Murphy who drew Billy Donovan, Roy Williams, Ben Howland, and others. Last year Nate Lubick had John Thompson III, John Beilein, and Johnny Dawkins in the…

Basketbull held their fall Junior/Senior Showcase last night at Holyoke Community College, and as people are beginning to expect, the event was a big success drawing student-athletes from across New England. Organizers Colin Tabb and Chris Sparks began the event with a brief introduction and then divided the group into teams and for an hour of stations, putting special emphasis on the amount of detail during that period of instruction. It is the beginning of a new era at Worcester Academy. For the first time in four years this year’s roster doesn’t include names like Carroll, Crenca, Martin, or Dolphin. This year’s team will be based around the local duo of…

Stanford, Clemson, and Georgia Tech all had coaches at the Hotchkiss gymnasium on Wednesday night to see Jason Morris, and apparently they are the three finalists in the long race that has been Morris’ recruitment. “Mainly those three right there,” he said nodding towards the three coaches when asked if he had trimmed his list since the summer. The coaches didn’t leave disappointed as the tremendously athletic swingman gave them a series of highlight reel plays. The first came on…

UConn head coach Jim Calhoun and assistant coach Patrick Sellers were in Georgia on Tuesday to visit guard Jeremy Lamb. The trip ended up to be well worth it as Lamb made a verbal commitment to the Huskies. He’s described as a late bloomer…
