LaSalle Academy Hosting Free Rhode Island Coaches Clinic

On September 19, 2009, LaSalle Academy will host a basketball clinic for coaches of all boys and girls teams.  Invited participants include: CYO, middle school, and high school coaches throughout the Rhode Island and Massachusetts area.  The clinic will be held at the McLaughlin Athletic Center on the La Salle campus at 612 Academy Avenue in Providence.

“Rhode Island has a great tradition of basketball coaches at all levels. This is a unique opportunity for the youth coaches to learn from some of the great college coaches in the area” said La Salle Head Basketball Coach Bill Black.  “Sean (Reddy) and I thought Rhode Island needed an event like this.”

The following coaches have generously agreed to volunteer their time and effort with the La Salle Basketball Coaching Clinic; Keno Davis and Phil Seymore, Providence College Men’s and Women’s Head Basketball Coaches, respectively, Tim O’Shea, the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Bryant University, and Kenneth White, the Providence College Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Black and Reddy, the LaSalle Girls Head Basketball Coach, said they are expecting other college level basketball coaches to speak at the clinic as well.  “If a coach can pick up one or two ideas to take back to their team, and improve their program, it was well worth it” said Reddy.
