Brewster Academy’s rising senior forward Melvin Ejim ended his recruitment and committed to Iowa State on Sunday. “The fan support and coaching staff was really important,” Ejim told the Cyclone Sports Report. “The players were great during my visits and they just really welcomed me into the team. The Basketball Spotlight held their annual All-Star Classic last weekend in New Jersey, featuring 24 of the top rising 9th graders in the northeast. Boston’s Ramone Gibbons was the only player from New England selected to participate and Gibbons showed his best stuff, earning MVP honors for the North squad. Central Catholic big man Carson Desrosiers, a consensus top 100 player in the country according to every major recruiting service, has trimmed his list down to three. Desrosiers will choose from among Wake Forest, Arizona State, and Marquette according to his Mass Rivals AAU coach Vin Pastore. Ricardo Ledo, who starred for Expressions Elite this summer and is set to attend St. Andrew's in the fall, was offered a scholarship by the University of Kansas on Wednesday. The fact that Corey Wright Jr. has earned a full scholarship to play division I college basketball doesn’t come as much of a surprise to those who have seen him play over the last four years. Over 75 boys and girls ranging from grades 3-8 benefited from the teachings of Hurley’s legendary career. Special guest speakers included The Shot Doctor, former Celtics player trainers and NBA players.
