Commitment Catch Up (5/20/26)
Continuing on with our commitment catch-ups on some guys moving on to college this fall…
Gabe Jackson, University of New England
Gabe heads to the Conference of New England after developing into a polished and skilled guard at South Portland High School. Jackson is effective around the basket, using strong footwork, body control, and touch to score in the paint while playing off two feet consistently. He is comfortable operating in the midrange, where he creates separation with step backs, fadeaways, and quick pull up jumpers. Jackson is also able to stretch the floor as a capable catch and shoot threat with his feet set.
Ryan Mutschler, Union College
Ryan brings size, athleticism, and scoring to Union after his career at Hanover High School. The athletic guard is a pure scorer who can fill it up from all three levels. He’s especially dangerous off the catch with his ability to knock down threes from deep range. Mutschler is equally dangerous in the midrange, where he elevates confidently into jumpers and creates separation with change of direction. He plays well off two feet and finishes under control when attacking downhill.
Mike Berry, University of New England
Mike decided to go to UNE after a productive career at Cape Cod Academy where he averaged a double double and established himself as a physical interior presence. Berry brings good size and strength to the next level, attacking the rim and finishing through contact. He is effective in the midrange game as a screener and scorer, being able to slip ball screens and stop for soft pull up jumpers. Berry is also a capable ball handler and passer, giving him the ability to facilitate an offense and create opportunities for teammates.
Dash Mabilon, Trinity College
Dash is off to the reigning NESCAC Champions after a big senior season at Canterbury, earning Class B All-NEPSAC recognition. He's a versatile big with a guard skillset. Mabilon uses his length and shooting ability to stretch the floor off the catch and off the dribble. His high and strong release point allows him to comfortably shoot over defenders. Mabilon moves well without the ball, using space effectively to cut to the basket for easy scoring opportunities and attacking the glass every time the ball goes up.
Kyler Stevenson, SUNY Plattsburgh
Kyler commits to SUNY Plattsburgh bringing toughness, energy, and efficiency to the program. He’s a physical finisher who likes to play off two feet and uses his body well to score through defenders around the basket. He runs the floor hard as a rim runner and consistently impacts the game with his high motor and willingness to do the little things. His basketball IQ excels in transition situations, often starting the break and making the right reads within the flow of the offense.
Khaleeb Obieke, College of Staten Island
Khaleeb is going to the College of Staten Island as one of the more dynamic all around guards in the class. A true three level scorer, Obieke combines shiftiness, athleticism, and a quick first step to consistently get downhill and finish efficiently at the rim. He is dangerous in transition and attacking gaps, where his creativity and acrobatic finishing ability stand out. He’s a high-IQ playmaker and elite passer who creates quality looks for teammates while controlling the pace of the game. Defensively, his activity level and high motor allow him to disrupt opposing offenses and make plays on the ball.
