Commitment Catch-Up (5/26/26)

More on some class of 2026 standouts moving on to play at the next level.

CJ Blakely, University of Southern Maine
CJ Blakely is off to the University of Southern Maine after building a reputation as a crafty, and smart guard at Smithfield High School. Blakely plays with strong balance and control, helping him operate well off two feet while using his body to create angles and absorb contact at the rim. He is a reliable shooter with a strong release that's effective off the catch and the dribble. Blakely’s high IQ allows him to find the right spots offensively, and being in the right positionally defense combined with his active hands generates deflections and steals.

Trevor Payne, Seton Hill University
Trevor Payne commits to Seton Hill University after a strong Prep school career at Tabor Academy where he established himself as one of the more explosive wings in Class A. Payne is a true three level scorer who combines elite athleticism with polished offensive skill, in addition to shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc. His high release point and smooth mechanics make him dangerous around the perimeter, while his tight handle and change of direction allow him to attack defenders off the bounce. Payne uses his athleticism to elevate above defenders on drives and pull-up jumpers, and he consistently plays with energy and intensity on both ends of the floor.

Alex Elston, Salve Regina University
Alex Elston heads to Salve Regina University after showcasing his all around offensive skill set at Wilbraham & Monson Academy. Elston is a composed guard with a tight handle, strong first step, and the ability to create separation against defenders. A talented shooter and playmaker, he sees the floor well and consistently makes smart passing reads. Elston also uses his athleticism effectively, rising above bigger defenders at the rim and stopping on a dime for pull up jumpers.

Alton Williams, Nichols College
Alton Williams is going to Nichols College after a big senior season that ended with Hollis-Brookline Division II state championship. Williams consistently filled the stat sheet with double-doubles thanks to his size, athleticism, and nonstop activity around the basket. He runs the floor extremely well, plays above the rim, and is a major threat in pick and roll situations where he finishes on either side of the basket. Williams is also active on the glass, grabbing rebounds and pushing the ball himself in transition.

Nick Mascitti, Lasell University
Nick Mascitti heads to Lasell University after a productive career at Williamstown High School where he developed into a skilled and versatile offensive player. The left handed forward uses his size effectively in the high post, creating opportunities for teammates with strong vision and the ability to pass over defenses. Around the basket, Mascitti’s polished footwork, soft touch, and the ability to finish through contact, makes him a threat. He is also comfortable stepping out to the elbows for quick pull-up jumpers with a high release point that is difficult to contest.

AJ Trimboli, Florida Southern College
AJ Trimboli heads to Florida Southern College after a historic career at King School that included All-NEPSAC Class B recognition and becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer. Trimboli is a polished and dynamic scorer who can impact the game from all three levels with advanced shot making ability. An elite shooter with deep range, he can get into his jumper in a variety of ways, including pull ups, step backs, and off ball movement that pressures the opposing defenses. He is equally dangerous in the midrange where he elevates confidently over defenders and also uses floaters, soft touch, and crafty finishes around the basket.
