UConn Gets Under Radar Big Man
This summer Michael Bradley was generating most of his recruiting interest from upper echelon mid-major schools like Drake, VCU, and others.
But towards the end of the summer the young big man and his Tennessee Tigers team had a match-up with the Connecticut Basketball Club at AAU Nationals.
Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun was one of several coaches in attendance presumably there to see Andre Drummond.
By the end of the game the Huskies were squarely on Bradley’s recruiting list.
On Tuesday Bradley picked UConn over Drake and in so doing gave Calhoun his latest under the radar big man prospect.
Several former Husky big men arrived at UConn without much national fanfare but nonetheless went on to NBA careers. That lists included players like Josh Boone, Hilton Armstrong, and even Emeka Okafor.
