The Hoop Group's HGSL announced their awards for the recent season last week and there were a lot of familiar names on the list.  Team Spartans Elite big man Donovan Clingan, who committed to UConn in June, was named the league's MVP.  Rhode Island Elite point guard Sebastian Thomas, who is expected to enroll at the University of Rhode Island this month, was named the 2021 MVP.  His Rhode Island Elite teammate, Isaiah Miranda, was named the 2023 MVP. Team New England and incoming Vermont Academy guard Dion Brown announced a verbal commitment to UMBC on Friday.  He becomes one of the first players to commit to new Retrievers head coach Jim Ferry, who took over the program this spring after former head coach Ryan Odom accepted the heading coaching position at Utah State.  Brown previously starred at Mountain Monument High School in Massachusetts, where he put up huge scoring numbers, but still didn't make much of a name… READ MORE >

Earlier this week, we posted a question on twitter - which 2022 guard was the biggest stock-riser in New England this summer?
