Hillside School’s Johnnie Vassar reportedly played some terrific basketball last week at the Hoop Group Junior Elite Camp, which featured many of the top young players from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. In the last week of July both the Boston Warriors u17 team and their u12 team earned medals at national AAU tournaments. The 17’s took the title in the copper bracket of the AU Super Showcase in Orlando, Florida, while just four days earlier the Warriors 12’s won the classic bracket at the Division II AAU Nationals. Worcester Academy Gets Two Worcester Academy has added two local pieces to next year’s team. Canaan Severin, who played at Marlboro High School for the past two years, and Russel Deremer, who graduated from St. Andrew’s (RI), will both be heading to the NEPSAC Class A school next month. Five Star Basketball has just concluded it's second session at Springfield College held August 2-5.
