Vassar Stars at Hoop Group Camp

Hillside School’s Johnnie Vassar reportedly played some terrific basketball last week at the Hoop Group Junior Elite Camp, which featured many of the top young players from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Vassar was named to the NBA All-Star team where he was joined by one of his future teammates at Hillside, 5’7” point guard Carlton Carter.

Vassar culminated his strong week by not only being selected to the All-Star game but then also thriving in it with a series of jumpers and strong drives to the rim.

Northstar Basketball, which covered all four days of the camp, ranked Vassar as the 5th best prospect in the field and Carter 7th.  Tyrell Alexander (’15, Rippowan, CT) was named honorable mention.
