Prep Profile - Cushing Academy

As much as things change at Cushing Academy, they also seem to stay the same.  The program has had three different head coaches in the last decade while producing star players and competing for championships at every stop along the way.  In the three years since James Cormier has taken over though, there hasn’t been a more consistent AA program. The Penguins won the championship in 2017, advanced to the final four in 2018, and made another run to the… READ MORE >

This is the year Worcester has been waiting for, and building towards, for the last four years. Quest Harris and Judson Martindale arrived as freshmen. Michael Rabinovich has been there since middle school. Even Josh Ogundele arrived from England as a sophomore. Head coach Jamie Sullivan invested in the future with all four of them, playing them early and allowing them to learn through their mistakes. Now it’s time to reap the rewards for that gained collective experience as they… READ MORE >

The 2019-20 season will be a year of firsts for the men’s basketball program at the New Hampton School. Former assistant coach Andrew Gale will be sliding over a chair to become the program’s new head coach and taking over a team that is talented, but nonetheless very young and inexperienced.   The Returners Gale has three returning veterans to rely on in Canberk Kavsuk, Kerem Ozturk, and Marcus Peterson. Ozturk is the most experienced of the three as he… READ MORE >

Putnam Science Academy is already a few games into their 2019-20 campaign, but they’ll face their first early tests in the next ten days with Redemption Christian and Spire Institute prior to the National Prep Showcase. The Mustangs are now two seasons removed from their 2018 National Prep Championship, and returning to that level remains the annual goal of the program under head coach Tom Espinosa and longtime right-hand-man Josh Scraba. While talent is always a requisite for the level… READ MORE >

NJIT lands a steal in Gray

There might not be another player in New England who has improved more in the last year than Mekhi Gray. The New York native first appeared in the region last fall after transferring into South Kent. He arrived with an early rep and some raw tools, but neither a polished or consistently productive game. After a year of growth in the NEPSAC, Gray showed increasingly consistent flashes in the EYBL, and especially at the Peach Jam, with his PSA Cardinals… READ MORE >
