BABC and Expressions began the day on Saturday both one win away from an all New England final at the AAU 11th Grade Super Regional. Unfortunately, both teams saw their runs cut just short as BABC fell to Boo Williams 39-33 in a rematch of a game played last week at the EYBL finals while Expressions lost a heartbreaker 63-61 to Alabama Challenge, missing a potential game winning three-pointer. Northfield Mount Hermon and Middlesex Magic rising junior A.J. Brodeur landed his third and fourth offers of the evaluation period on Tuesday as St. Joseph’s and George Washington both hopped on board. The Under Armour Association hosted their inaugural UAA Finals last week in Atlanta. Located only 150 miles from the EYBL Finals at the Nike Peach Jam, and other tournaments in the Augusta area, the addition of the UAA event made the southern region the major draw of the second live period. Expressions Elite traveled to Manheim, Pennsylvania and the 30-court Spooky Nooky Sports facility for the annual Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest this weekend. The top overall seed in the event, Expressions received an opening round bye before knocking off CC Thunder on Friday night. BABC’s EYBL season came to an end on Saturday after falling to Mokan Elite and thus ending their run at the 2014 Nike Peach Jam. BABC finished pool play with a record of 2-3 but drew an extremely tough schedule with two of their five opponents having since advanced to the event’s semifinals. After narrowly escaping their first two games on Wednesday night, the Middlesex Magic returned to Competitive Edge Athletic Complex to score three more wins on Thursday and capture the Hoop Group Summer Classic East championship.
