Trinity Gets a Good One When Sean Tabb was the top assistant coach at Trinity College he earned a reputation as one of the top division III recruiters in the northeast.  Year in and year out Tabb’s efforts would result in Bantam recruiting classes that featured a variety of scholarship level talent.  And after taking over the reigns of the Bantam program, it is now apparent that nothing will change.  Mick Distasio is headed to Trinity next year where he… READ MORE >

Prior to arriving at the South Kent School this fall for his post-graduate season, Jackie Carmichael starred at Manhattan High School in Kansas.  Twenty one years earlier, another great player, Tim Jankovich, graduated from Manhattan High School.  Jankovich’s playing career took him to nearby Kansas State before a long and storied coaching career that includes a national championship while serving as an assistant coach at Kansas last year.  Following that championship, Jankovich was hired as the new head coach at… READ MORE >

Xpressions Elite peaked at the right time as they scored a dramatic come from behind victory over Connecticut Basketball Club in the u17 final on Sunday afternoon.  Trailing by as many as 15 at one point in the second, Xpressions picked up their intensity on the defensive end and also relied on some timely shot making from the likes of Corey Wright Jr., Joe OShea, and especially Laurent Rivard.  It was a disappointing loss for CBC as they had playrf… READ MORE >

Northeast Hoops Festival – Friday Night Recap

One of New Hampshire’s top AAU programs made quite a statement on Friday night with a 20 point win over a talented Connecticut Gold squad.  Execution was the key for the Jayhawks as they ran a disciplined half-court offense with lots of good screening action along with a tough match-up zone on the defensive end.  But they also got plenty of individual contributions as well, especially in the backcourt with Will Bayliss and Alex LaRosa.  The duo combined for nine… READ MORE >

Stock Risers – Class of 2011

Georges Niang, Tilton (NH):  Tilton had an incredible year by all standards.  And while the “big three” was certainly the foundation of their success, they wouldn’t have been able to beat the best teams in the country without solid contributions from their supporting cast.  Niang was certainly among them as the sophomore anchored the power forward spot for most of the year and showed an ability to score and rebound in the paint against older players while also stretching the… READ MORE >
