Woodstock Academy and Riverside Hawks big man Promise Opurum announced his commitment to New Hampshire yesterday. Opurum attended New Rochelle High School in New York before deciding on taking a post-grad year at Woodstock. The 2021-22 season was one of growth and maturation for the Suffield Academy boys basketball team. Coming off a 2020-21 season that was cancelled due to the pandemic, this year’s team was entirely new to NEPSAC play, and they took on all challengers and participated in a full assortment of showcase events to give their kids every opportunity to earn college exposure. Canterbury School guard TJ Holloway announced his commitment to Central Connecticut State University and first year head coach Patrick Sellers over the weekend. Holloway attended Greens Farms Academy before transferring to Canterbury in the fall of 2020 and reclassifying to 2022. He also spent time on the grassroots circuit with both Albany City Rocks and Connecticut Elite. Holloway made a significant impact in his first full season with the Saints this past winter. Putnam Science Academy point guard Arturo Dean announced his verbal commitment to Florida International on Monday afternoon, choosing FIU over a number of other D1 offers ranging as high as the Atlantic 10 Conference. The National Prep Championship is winding down and on Friday the 2022 national champions will be crowned. Semi-finals will be played at 11:00am with Putnam Science Academy meeting Scotland Campus and Northfield Mount Hermon facing Massanutten Military Academy.
