Connecticut high school basketball fans have a new way to celebrate Martin Luther King Day this year as the Connecticut Hoops Challenge makes its debut. The opening day for the 3-day BABC Prep Classic at Chelsea High School was a very exciting showcase of some of New England’s elite basketball talent. The first game was a very evenly matched one with Notre Dame Prep taking on Bridgton Academy. Bridgton hung around within single-digits all game despite being without Seton Hall bound guard Dashun Wiggins. The Hoophall Classic tipped off Friday afternoon at Springfield College’s Blake Arena. The first three games of the day featured top high school girls programs from the greater Western Massachusetts area. The nightcap featured similar match-ups on the boy’s side. Bridgton Academy’s Dashun Wiggins has already committed to the Big East and Seton Hall, but he isn’t even the top prospect in the state of Maine in our opinion.
