This week’s Notable Performances listing is by far the longest of the year as prep schools got back into action and some players are obviously starting to hit their mid-year stride.

Player of the Week – Andrew Chrabascz, Portsmouth High School: The sophomore forward continues to pour on the production. He scored 30 points while grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking 3 shots but he saved the best for last as he drilled a 12 foot jumper with 0.5 seconds left on the clock to give his team a 53-52 win over West Warwick to maintain their perfect 9-0 start to the season. Chrabascz started his week with a 27 point performance against Mt. Hope.

Player of the Week – Gerard Coleman, Tilton School: Coleman is starting the new year right where he left off in 2009. Last weekend he scored 36 points on 15-24 shooting from the floor while also handing out 4 assists in an 87-65 win over Proctor Academy. A night later he poured in 35 more points on 13 of 24 shooting, picked 6 steals, grabbed 5 rebounds, and handed out 5 assists in a win over Cushing. Then on Wednesday Coleman exploded for 45 points while also collecting 5 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds as Tilton fell one point shy of Winchendon 89-88.
