Vermont Academy made a move that few expected last year when they joined Class AAA of the NEPSAC. In a time when more and more top programs, not just in New England but nationally, are finding reasons to avoid scheduling games against top competition, the Wildcats voluntarily joined the pinnacle of New England prep school basketball. They also did it in a year when they were younger, with less star power, than ever before. Bruce Brown wasn’t walking through that…

Last spring, when the pandemic first arrived, Gunnery forward Clayton Erickson was one of the players we featured in our NERR-TV Unsigned Senior Showcase. When we walked into the Bristol Sports Armory last week to see Connecticut Passion practice, we didn’t know what to expect. The roster wasn’t full of big names and sometimes there can be a big difference between players and programs that want exposure and those that are ready for it. As it turns out, the Passion were the latter. Not only did they have several prospects who are already college prospects, and several more on the verge of that status…

Larson is perhaps the best example of a late-bloomer in New England.…
