AJ Dybantsa’s Commitment Announcement

The most highly anticipated college decision in high school basketball has been revealed: AJ Dybantsa, the nation’s top-ranked prospect, has officially committed to BYU.

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, Dybantsa’s basketball journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

From playing against older competition as a middle schooler to dominating at the highest levels of prep basketball, his rise to stardom has been widely expected.

Dybantsa began his career making waves in Massachusetts, where he proved his name in the region and nationally before transferring to Prolific Prep following the 2022-23 winter season.

At St. Sebastian's, he led his team to the NEPSAC Class A Championship as a freshman, where they came up short to a very good Milton Academy team.

That same year, he turned heads on the EYBL circuit, leading the league with an astonishing 25.8 points per game.

During his time at Prolific Prep, Dybantsa reclassified back into his original graduating class of 2025 and continued to build his reputation as one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.

He later transitioned to Utah Prep, a newly established program, where he further honed his game in preparation for the NCAA.

Recently, Dybantsa made headlines with a standout appearance at Emmanuel College, squaring off against fellow top prospect Nate Ament.

The gym was electric, comprised of college coaches in the star prospects final four and media outlets eager to witness two of the brightest stars in high school basketball face off.

And today, live on ESPN’s First Take, AJ Dybantsa put an end to the speculation, announcing his commitment to BYU.
