Rhode Island 2027 Ranking Drop

Today, we’ve released the first iteration of the Rhode Island class of 2027 rankings.

Elijah McNair kicks things off at the top, as the 6’4” guard has started for St. Andrew’s this season in AA play. McNair’s size, strength and pull-up shooting are notable as he continues to hone his game under Coach Hart.

Devin Sone, a newly reclassed guard at Rocky Hill just kicked off his season with the squad. Sone brings a high motor to the floor with defensive skills and consistent outside shooting ability. His upside is one to track.

Ethan Njenga has played a good amount of minutes for St. George’s this year already, and looks to be a big factor for the school out of Newport county. Njenga’s handle, playmaking vision and finishing inside have been calling cards of his game we’ve made note of.

James Wilson out of South Kingstown finds himself at the fourth spot after a really strong fall that showcased the potential he has. Wilson has great pace to his game, with a developed upper body and scores it off the dribble. He had 28 in his first game of the high school season this winter.

Sire Hazard rounds out the top five after a freshman season where his promising game flashed. He’s got basketball bloodlines as the younger brother of Tedrick Wilcox, a standout at Hampton and current pro in Slovakia. Hazard shows tough shot making ability and creates for others.

The Mount Saint Charles trio of Christian Dalton, Soren Lolonga, and Segun Sanni come in at six, seven, eight, as the Mounties have gotten big minutes from the three thus far. All three started this past Sunday at the Scholar Roundball, with Dalton’s handle/crafty guard skills, Lolonga’s patient scoring, and Sanni’s upside at the forward spot standing out to us on the day.

St. Andrew’s guard Uriah Williams comes in at nine as he’s continued to improve since our first viewing last fall, and has been clearly putting in the work. He’s a quick guard with some scoring chops.

Times2 Academy’s Justin Urey closes out the top ten as the smaller guard has managed to continuously improve upon his game as time passes. His change of speed, advanced dribbling skills, and outside shooting have caught our eye.
