Clancy Rugg was the dominant force with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots as BHS held off a gritty Rice effort in front of a frenzied crowd of 3200 at Patrick Gymnasium on Monday night. Unfortunately it was not a good day for New England, as both local teams were eliminated in the semi-finals. It began in the first game of the day as Brewster Academy met up with #1 Hargrave Military Academy. Mark Lyons came ready to play as he had 8 points in the game’s first 4 minutes. In the first game of the day St. Thomas More squared off against Hargrave Military Academy. Although the #1 seed jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game, STM wouldn’t be discouraged as they chipped away at the lead for the next 25 minutes. The NEPSAC finals lived up to the hype as it was an extremely exciting day of basketball with numerous storylines. The atmosphere was electric all day long as the Endicott gymnasium was filled with various student sections from each participating school. When Andy Moore decided to come to Northfield Mount Hermon as a post-graduate he did it in hopes of reaching his dream of playing division I basketball.
