CHICAGO (March 17, 2011) — In its 26th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with ESPN RISE, announced the 50 state by state winners of their Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year. It was a big weekend for Samir McDaniels as the New Mission senior led his team to their second consecutive state championship on Saturday, knocking off Northbridge 67-57. Division I Belongs to Bishop Guertin Bishop Guertin captured their first state championship in 28 years and it was only appropriate that the senior duo of Connor Green and Sean McClung finished with identical 22 point performances.
