New Hampton Big Man Heading Home

The second time was the charm for both Will Davis and UC-Irvine.

At this late stage in the year both were working on contingency plans.  Davis' initial commitment came this fall when he pledged to the University of Pennsylvania only to open back up his recruitment mid-season.

UC-Irvine had an initial fall commitment of their own from Lee Academy big man Thanos Thodos, but were left searching for a replacement recently when it became clear the first year international product wouldn't be able to meet NCAA Clearinghouse requirements.

In Davis they landed a steal who turned down recruitment from a variety of upper echelon mid-major programs in the northeast in order to return to his home state.

Davis is a long and athletic six-foot-nine hybrid big man who can fly around the court, block shots, and finish explosively above the rim.  He should be expected to make an immediate contribution upon joining UC-Irvine's program.
