The Hoop Group held their annual Academic Elite session at Albright College in Pennsylvania. In order to qualify to participate in the camp, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA in the classroom, and at least an 1050 (Math/Reading Sections) on the SAT. Two years ago, James Marcellus was a senior at Archbishop Williams High School in Massachusetts where he had already led his team to the TD Banknorth Garden for a State semifinal appearance. The u17 Super Showcase had a unique set-up.  In fact, it was really two separate tournaments.  Every team in the field was separated into either the gold or silver divisions prior to the beginning of the week.  Those two divisions played their own pool play games, bracket play games, crowned separate champions, and no overlapping competition.  BABC was New England’s lone representative in the gold division and they played well.  They dropped a 71-62 decision to the New York Gauchos… READ MORE >

After handling Minnesota Pump n Run with ease in the semi-finals 55-37, the New England Playaz found a familiar foe waiting for them in the final of the prestigious Adidas Super 64 Tournament.  Memphis Magic Elite, who the Playaz had defeated earlier this week in a super pool game, returned for a rematch after turning away the Atlanta Celtics and D.C. In a time where most exposure events focus on game play, Five Star Basketball Camp is sticking to it's roots, by focusing on teaching the fundamentals of the game.
