The summer is over and with it the end of the recruiting period. As has been well-documented, this recruiting calendar was totally unprecedented. In 2018, the “live period” included a total of 21 days between the spring and summer where college coaches could watch perspective student athletes compete with their grassroots teams. Waterbury native Ta'Quan Zimmerman ran his second annual "Be a Baller, not a Bully" camp this week at Wilby High School with over 190 boys and girls in attendance. Bensley Joseph and Shy Odom were two of the 75 players from around the country selected to attend the USA Basketball Junior National Team Mini-Camp in Colorado Springs over the course of the last five days. The annual CP3 Camp hosted top prospects from the college, high school, and middle school ranks last week in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The 2019 Elite 75 College Showcase took place less than a month ago and already we've seen a number of the prospects who participated earn full scholarship offers. The final week of the NCAA's newly designed recruiting calendar takes place this week. It began in late June with two weekends of scholastic events.
