A year ago Papa Dia was thought of by many people as a player with high-major talent who needed to learn to play harder. What a difference a year can make. When Dia left the South Kent campus last spring he must have known that it would be important for him to shed that label during the summer “live” period, and that is exactly what he did. In fact, his summer was so productive that in September Hoop Scoop Online…

Andre Walker commits to Vanderbilt: The versatile forward from Illinois didn’t need to come to prep school this year. He had scholarship offers on the table from top 25 programs in Creighton, Nevada, and Southern Illinois last year. Without Jerome Dyson, Proctor Academy might be missing a big national name, but in 7’1 center Phil Wait they do have a big man to build their team around. Wait is the anchor for a Proctor team that is trying to return to the Class B title game after their heartbreaking loss to St. Andrew’s last year. The senior big man’s biggest attribute is a very soft scoring touch with his back to the basket both with his jump hook…

BABC was the talk of the tournament on Saturday. After defeating a solid Bay State Magic team by 30+ points in their first game they went on to defeat Mass Premier in their second game. Led by the UConn bound sophomore duo of Jamal Coombs (pictured) and Alex Oriakhi the sheer amount of talent this team possesses is extremely impressive. But even more is the way in which this team shares the basketball, and it is freshman point guard Phil…
