Mike Martin picked up his first commitment as the head coach at Brown University on Thursday morning when Tavon Blackmon, a six-foot point guard from Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C., committed to the Bears. Saint Michael's College picked up a verbal commitment earlier this week from Matthew Bonds, a six-foot-five 200 pound forward from North Point High School in Waldorf, Maryland. Over the past two high school seasons, Bonds has been a critical component for a North Point team that has achieved a 50-3 record including a Maryland 4A state championship.
Bonds, who is known as a face-up big man and excellent rebounder, played with Team Takeover on the grassroots circuit.

Connecticut native Kuran Iverson made a verbal commitment to the University of Memphis on Tuesday morning, giving head coach Josh Pastner his fourth top 100 product in the 2013 class. Kyle Washington's recruitment has come to a close following Sunday morning's commitment to North Carolina State while on campus for his official visit. Washington was originally scheduled to visit Baylor last weekend, but ultimately cancelled after they landed a commitment from another forward in the days prior to his trip. Six-foot-five senior forward Roland Nyama committed to Stony Brook on Sunday after visiting the school officially this weekend.
