Martin Gets First at Brown
Mike Martin picked up his first commitment as the head coach at Brown University on Thursday morning when Tavon Blackmon, a six-foot point guard from Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C., committed to the Bears.
Blackmon, who ran with D.C. Assault on the travel circuit, chose Brown over scholarship offers from Loyola MD and St. Francis along with other wide-ranging division I interest and recruitment.
A quick playmaker who thrives with his ability to get out in the open floor and pass off the dribble, Blackmon also has a reputation for being one of the toughest on-the-ball defenders in the entire Capital region.
