The Hall of Fame Spring Classic got underway on Saturday with over 200 teams in action from Springfield to Amherst. Northfield Mount Hermon alum Chris Fitzgerald will be transferring to Columbia University for his sophomore season following his freshman year at George Washington. Fitzgerald will have to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules but will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in the 2012-2013 season. The six-foot-five small forward comes from Flora MacDonald Academy and picked Rhody over offers from two other Atlantic 10 programs. The 2011 America East Champions, Boston University men's basketball program, will hold their annual team camp on June 10th and 11th. Last year’s annual event drew 20 teams from the surrounding metropolitan area as well as Western Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
