On Saturday, June 4th, over 60 prospects gathered at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Boston to participate in the 2011 Reebok Headliner Try-Out. Designed to provide an opportunity for a select group of kids to earn an invitation to the upcoming Reebok Headliner camp in Philadelphia, players participated in a series of drills in the morning session, followed by five-on-five play in the afternoon. Two prestigious national camps are taking place this weekend and New England representatives are standing out in both venues. Cushing Academy point guard Kyle Callanan finally put an end ot his recruitment on Wednesday when he made a verbal commitment to Southern Connecticut. Games of the Day HS Championship – Bristol Ballers vs Bishop Elite The last game of the day turned out to be the most exciting. The High School division championship game was an offensive shootout. Each team relied heavily on their star players; Elite’s Devin Gilligan and Bristol’s Dominique Elliott. Gilligan created numerous plays off the dribble and was very strong finishing inside at will. The Boston Warriors AAU program held their annual college showcase night on Tuesday, inviting players from their own program as well as a select group of others to compete in the night’s activities.
