The annual Hoop Mountain Spring Classic will tip off tonight at Mass Premier Courts in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The event will host a number of still available seniors as well as up and coming underclassmen prospects. Hillhouse and Fairfield Prep will write the fourth chapter of their incredible rivalry in the CIAC Class LL championship game this weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena. The consensus top two teams in the state split their regular season meetings before Hillhouse scored an overtime win in the championship of the SCC tournament. The 2012-2013 prep school season may have officially come to an end last week, but Tuesday was still a tremendous day for NEPSAC basketball. Tuesday was the day in which regular season award winners were named the east coast’s top four college basketball conferences – the Big East, ACC, SEC, and Atlantic 10. Champions were crowned last week beginning on Sunday with Brewster winning Class AAA of the NEPSAC, Cushing Academy winning AA, and Phillips Exeter taking Class A at Endicott College. Just 48 hours later the Nationanl Prep Championship had tipped off and by Wednesday night Northfield Mount Hermon was celebrating the school's first national championship. Only days after leading Penquis Valley to a Maine state championship, junior forward Isaiah Bess landed his first division I scholarship offer from the University of New Hampshire. The RIIL is the only state association in New England, and only one of two in the entire country (along with Kentucky), to crown one undisputed state champion. On Sunday night, Classical High School became that champion, defeating North Kingston in the finals of the Open State Tournament.
