Duke Offers Goodluck

Wilbraham and Monson big man Goodluck Okonoboh saw his recruitment go to another level on Wednesday when Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski offered him a scholarship.

Duke becomes the latest in a long line of high-major programs to offer the shot-blocking sensation joining the likes of Indiana, Florida, Connecticut, Cincinnati, Marquette, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Providence, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Providence, and others.

Coach K also said he would be following Okonoboh with the Mass Rivals during the upcoming July evaluation period and planned to follow them to Indianapolis on the opening day of the period and then to King of Prussia on the opening day of the second week, according to Mass Rivals head coach Vin Pastore.

That wasn’t the only piece of good news Okonoboh received on Wednesday as the updated ESPN national rankings saw him make a jump up to the 19th spot in the ESPN 100.

The six-foot-nine big man is widely considered to be the premier shot-blocker in the national class of 2014.
